Neuromod Appoints Chief Scientific Officer
Neuromod is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Shona D’Arcy as Chief Scientific Officer.
Dr. Shona D'Arcy is a clinical research scientist who has worked in the medical device and remote patient monitoring sector for over 10 years. Shona earned an MSc in communications and human-centred design and a PhD in digital signal processing from the University of Birmingham. Shona completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at Trinity College Dublin where she led numerous clinical trials involving the neuropshycological assessment of ageing populations in response to technological interventions. She has coordinated significant clinical trials that involved collaborating industry and academic partners, including the largest ever reported smart-inhaler trial. Shona has a unique insight into the challenges of translating medical devices from clinical research to patient's lives, ensuring that the needs of all stakeholders are met.
Neuromod Devices, founded in 2010 by Dr Ross O’Neill, is headquartered in NexusUCD, Belfield Office Park, Clonskeagh, Dublin 4. The company has developed mutebutton®, a non-surgical medical device, for the treatment of chronic Tinnitus.
