Researchers Secure Approval for Pilot Clinical Study

Researchers at NUI Maynooth announce that approval has been secured from the Biomedical and Life Sciences Research Ethics Sub-Committee in NUI Maynooth and the Ethics Committee in The Hermitage Medical Clinic, Dublin to conduct a 60-person pilot study of the mutebutton® multisensory neuromodulation device for tinnitus.

Having designed and manufactured a stable clinical prototype and secured a CE-Mark for investigational purposes, study participants will use the mutebutton® MB2011 clinical prototype over the course of 10 weeks, with the study lasting a total of 16 weeks.

The study will be conducted by NUI Maynooth is association with The Hermitage Medical Clinic, under the clinical supervision of Mr. Brendan Conlon ENT and Clinical Audiologist, Ms. Caroline Hamilton.
